Spelunking (caving)
Oregon Caves (National Park Service)
“Oregon Caves National Monument offers family-focused opportunities
to explore a marble cave . . . hike trails . . .”
Cave or overhang where giant “indava” or “
ropen” was
sleeping: believed to be a
live Rhamphorhynchoid pterosaur.
How can we pin down any general connection between caves and bats? For example, in New Mexico, the Carlsbad Caverns have hundreds
of thousands of Mexican free-tailed bats (also called the Brazilian free tailed); but only a few miles away, in the deepest cave
in the U.S. (Lechuguilla), there are no living bats, only a few skeletons (except near the entrance).
